GREAT AWAKE COACH AMA

My coaching is unlike anything I've ever heard a "coach" do before. Ask me anything about what I do & how I do it...

So I had a talk with a “work” colleague today, and they mentioned a sore subject - to me, anyway. They mentioned how beat up & tired the term “Life Coach” is, and opined how I might re-brand my job title somehow.

This casual, nothing-personal-kinda note cut deeper than my new associate understood. He was telling me what I already knew all too well. The perception of Life Coaches as a whole isn’t great - hence why I’ve gotten rid of the word “Life” in how I describe myself.

I’ve jokingly said “never trust a Life Coach under 50” for many years now - as turns out, it’s pretty good advice. Many Life Coaches are under-qualified and under-experienced in their own lives.

Be honest - how are you supposed to take advice from someone who’s never overcome adversity, or who hasn’t walked a path that is similar to yours? You can’t & you won’t.

Luckily for you, I’m 54 and I have stories that will (most likely) turn your hair white. Let’s just say I got some miles on me, and I walk around with some of the best party stories you’ve ever heard in your life.

I made a nice living as a professional DJ for 2 decades, worked on big marketing projects for big companies with big budgets, and had life experiences that some people would kill for. I’ve met heads of state, billionaires & powerful CEO’s - in retrospect, men powerful enough to have you killed.

On the other side of what appeared to be an interesting (and sometimes glamorous) life however, there’s stories of alcohol & drug abuse, homelessness, mental illness and two failed marriages.

In addition, in the past I have personally been immature, unprofessional, selfish, inconsiderate, short-tempered & self-centered. I have had a sharp, loose tongue with little care or consideration for how my words were taken and I have certainly told my share of lies.

I could go on, but I won’t…

So why am I telling you this?

I’m telling you this because it has dawned on me that a) I have a great many new subscribers, b) my subscribers know very little about me, and c) you guys know even less about how & what I do in coaching my clients.

And that’s a problem - hence this AMA (ASK ME ANYTHING).

With 97% of modesty aside, the work my clients & I are doing together are unlike anything I’ve ever heard of in the self-improvement & recovery fields.

The toughest part about it? It’s difficult to explain to people - even my clients can’t put it into one sentence (believe me, I’ve asked them to). I’ve reduced it down to this…

”I have life changing conversations with people…”.

And yes, I’m aware how vague that sounds. Once again, it’s why I’m doing this AMA - ASK ME ANYTHING.
